FMCS Named One of the Most Innovative Agencies in the Federal Government
Release Date: 4/2/2014
The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) was ranked number three 'most innovative' overall among 28 small agencies in the 2013 Best Places to Work in the Federal Government innovation rankings released by the nonprofit, nonpartisan, Partnership for Public Service.
The Partnership for Public Service, Deloitte and Hay Group, as part of their analysis of the Best Places to Work data, examined how innovative government is, which agencies excel in fostering innovation and what drives innovation in the government space. The annual survey asks federal employees a series of questions, including specifics about how encouraged and motivated they feel to be creative and develop new ideas in their job. The answers to those responses drive the analysis for the annual innovation score.
The annual ranking is derived from the Federal Employee Viewpoint survey of more than 700,000 civil servants from 371 federal agencies and subcomponents conducted by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Users can conduct side-by-side comparisons of how agencies or their subcomponents rank in various categories, examine how they compare to other agencies and see whether they have improved or regressed over time.
