NABET-CWA Members Ratify New Agreement with ABC/Disney Reached with FMCS Help

Members of the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians-Communications Workers of America (NABET-CWA) have voted to ratify a new collective bargaining agreement with ABC/Disney, reached with the help of FMCS Director George H. Cohen.
The FMCS Director was actively involved in personally mediating the difficult negotiations that led to an agreement, March 22, which was ultimately approved by the NABET-CWA membership. The previous master agreement between the network and the technicians and broadcast employees had expired nearly two years previously. Both sides in the negotiation communicated their appreciation to the FMCS Director for his efforts.
“The mediation made a big difference, especially in the last marathon session on March 22 overseen directly by George Cohen,” NABET-CWA President James Joyce told Bloomberg BNA's Daily Labor Report. “He was able to convince both parties where they were able to make compromises....”
