Statement by FMCS Director George H. Cohen on NFL-NFLRA Agreement

WASHINGTON, DC — “With the announcement of an agreement between the NFL and the NFL Referees Association, I wish to congratulate both parties on behalf of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service for resolving their differences and for their commitment to and trust in the process of collective bargaining. We know that the successful resolution of this high profile dispute also will be greeted enthusiastically by the dedicated professional athletes throughout the NFL and the millions of devoted fans.”
“I also wish to commend the extraordinary efforts of FMCS Deputy Director Scot L. Beckenbaugh and FMCS Commissioner Peter Donatello for their vital part in assisting the NFL and NFLRA in achieving this result.”
“Out of respect for the ratification processes to be applied by each party, the Agency will not disclose any of the details of this agreement and will have no further comment at this time.”
