FMCS Director Cohen Speaks on Pro-Active Collaboration at Kansas City Luncheon

FMCS Director George H. Cohen spoke today on the benefits of pro-active collaboration at a luncheon sponsored by the Polsinelli Shughart law firm.
While sharing his keys to successful negotiation, Director Cohen emphasized that collective bargaining belongs in an industrial democracy, much of it these days is fraught with antagonism, and that it doesnít have to be that way. "Donít wait until 30 days before a contract expires and sit across the table and stare at each other,Ē he said, recommending that itís better to establish joint labor-management committees far in advance of contract expiration.
