With assistance from a federal mediator, L-3 Army Fleet Support (AFS) and members of the International Association of Machinists Local 2003, approved a new collective bargaining agreement, ending a one-week strike.
AFS provides maintenance and logistics support to the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence at Ft. Rucker (AL) and the U.S. Air Force. After lengthy contract negotiations stalled, IAM members began a strike that severely limited flight training at the base. The new, five-year agreement will return nearly 3,000 people to work this week.
