Release Date: 12/1/2011
Through the efforts of a federal mediator, bargaining representatives of Hawaiian Telcom and IBEW Local 1357 have reached a tentative agreement; updating the company's Last, Best and Final offer which was previously rejected by the union.
The new collective bargaining agreement brings an end to a three-week impasse, and will be put through an expedited voting process with ballots expected by December 13. Both sides have agreed that during the voting period, there will be no work stoppages or slowdowns, and no lockouts.
